Warranty question

Does Tesoro honor their lifetime warranty on their detectors even if you arent the original owner?
Someone told me they may do this. That would be incredible.

Dont have a problem with mine, just curious for the future.

Their lifetime warranty is not transferable. It is only for the original owner of the unit. So if you send a detector in for work that is not covered by a warranty then the cost of labor and parts is at the discretion of Tesoro.Never assume they will fix it for free. But with that being said there are many examples of them fixing units for nothing or very little in cost to the owner. #1 thing to remember is that they are a company and have to stay in business and hopefuly make a good profit.

Hi Deathhare, as for what you heard from someone about Tesoro concerning their Warranty, I would say from my over 25 years of using Tesoro , someone told you correctly. There is some truth In what Diggerdug told you concerning the matter, but for the most part, (99.5% I would say) when you send a Tesoro in for repair/check up or whatever, unless it is evident the unit has been modded or abused, Tesoro will tend to the matter and send it home to you at their expense, and no mention of whether you are the first owner or the 15th. This will many times include(free) any spare piecy parts/etc as you let them know you may need.That is fact, and yes it is "Incredible" that it took so many other main stream detector Mfgs' so many years to FINALLY "get it".Truely Great Machines and Service is better advertising any day than some BS TV add followed by more of like minded service and charges. I love this company.
Im glad that Ive kept buying Tesoro and will continue too as well.
