WARNING....There Are Some Cheap Chinese Knock-Offs Available On The Internet....

The easiest way is to tell if it's a fake is to look at the price. The fake ones are selling forunder $100.00, as low as $55.00. If you order one, it will be shipped from China. PLEASE....buy from a reputable dealer! Those great deals aren't so great when you see how much of a piece of junk the knockoffs are, and good luck trying to get your money back. Check out their poor operation below:

That is horrible, thanks for the warning!

Avoiding the Chinese knock-offs is super easy- buy from a reputable dealer or forum sponsor and you will never end up with that Chinese crap.

As we know their have been fakes before. Pistol Probe was faked, but noticable by diffrent cosmetic decals, box, and perfomance. Minelab coils which had slight cosmetic and noticable purformance problems. Minelab made videos and warnings on their website to address the fakes. The newest Garrett Pro Pointer is perfect in its cosmetic fakeness...down to the box and enclosed paperwork. How did this happen??? Did Garrett contract some work to China?? Why hasn't Garrett addressed this problem to the public?? The only way to tell the difference is the lack of the fakes performance.

China fakes thousands of products and there is literally no difference to the eye. I saw a documentary where some even fake medications. As i understand it china has no patent laws, and the chinese government looks the other way.

Yep, they look the other way with their hand out.

They even have a web site advertising brand name products. Some of their Knock Offs are just not branded but it is obvious that they are copying the external appearance of Brand Name Products. "Detector All" is one of the Chinese web sites. Steer Clear unless you really want some junk.

Hi,
You guys should quit fooling yourselves.
Almost every cell phone sold these days is made and assembled in China, Malaysia, Singapore or Taiwan.
I-phones are completely made in China.
So are computers, printers and almost every other electonic device imaginable.
And these are not being made by some pirate underground companies - NO - American management decided to have their products made in China and they

It's illegal to import counterfeits. We've already taken legal action (successfully) against an importer.

Any counterfeit that shows up in our (Fisher-Teknetics-BH) service dept. for repair will be confiscated. I would suppose that our competitors have similar policies.

Since legitimate manufacturers and authorized dealers all have a dog in this fight, there is an industry-wide behind-the-scenes informal network of sharing information on counterfeiters. Anyone who gets the idea they can make good money importing and selling counterfeits in the USA (or in other countries where this both rule of law and legitimate distribution) will likely be discovered and busted in very short order.

If you buy a metal detector from other than an authorized dealer, esp. if it's ebay or craigslist, you're running the risk of getting stuck with a counterfeit. Buy only from authorized dealers.
