.... I don't really like any of the top three contenders. Ron Paul, the 4th contender, is way too wacko for my tastes on defense, foreign policy and some other issues.
Romney is pretty much a RHINO and not conservative enough for me. I fear he would not be able to undo our do nothing house and senate.
Newt is an amazingly smart man, good debater, a terrific historian, provides true conservative "talk" ... but has more baggage than an overseas flight and comes across as not to be trusted and I fear the "fits of rage" he has demonstrated when under attack from Romney.
Santorum is likely not to beat the above two but he is saying all the things I want to hear, no baggage has yet been revealed, seems intelligent, is a good debater, does not rely on a teleprompter, but lost his last Senate re-election in a heavily democrat district. That may be a good thing! Its amazing he got elected as a republican in the first place.
My sister, from Pennsylvania, is a flaming die hard liberal who voted for Obama, won't vote for him this time, thinks Santorum is an idiot, and hates Newt. If I guess correctly, and I don't know if PA is an open primary state, but if so, I think she would vote for Romney. So that leaves him out for me.
99% of everyone I talk to here at the store (customers and employees) and with personal friends would vote for an old dirty worn out smelly boot versus Obama in the actual presidential election.
Right now I'm leaning heavily for Santorum.
If you lived in Florida and had to vote for one of these guys, for whom would you hang your chad? Put answer in your subject line then explain if necessary in the body of the post. Thanks. Ed
