WARNING..Know Who Owns The Land

It all started innocently when we were visiting an area and we were approached about going to the man's yard to locate a Silver ST. Christopher Metal.

His house was about 100 years old and just down the street but he lost the pendent about 40 years ago!

The man offered me $10 reward which I turned down and asked instead to keep anything I find except for the St. Christopher Metal which he agreed to my terms.

When we arrived we noticed a large back yard with lots of dog doo and crab grass but started going at the task

After about 10 minutes the man indicated he thought we would have found it by now, I told him it does not work that way.

While digging a woman came up to me and told me I was trespassing! I thought she was joking!

It turned out that the house no longer belonged to the man and he had not asked permission for us to detect!

A Lesson we all can learn from!

Wow, that guy has a lot of nerve. I guess it was a shock. I would have assumed like you that the man owned the property. I'm remember your story if anyone asks me to find something for them on private property.

Wow I never had that happen but I have been kicked off of land for finding to much silver
I had asked to detect he said fine so I dug a couple of targets that happen to be silver quarter and a 43 walking half he told me to get off the property that he would get a detector and do it his self I gave him a year and went back and he let me Finnish it was a treasure yard

WOW So what happen did she let you finish? Do you ever share you finds with a home owner? Or make any kind of deal with the owners?

It was owned by a young couple and I believe she was the in-law but either way the young man said we could continue for 15 more minutes

I told him that I had not realized it was a lawn because of the doo and crab grass but i would not dig anymore unless I hit a solid silver signal

But Brian and I were uncomfortable so we did some swings and left, later Brian told me he thought he got some Silver signals but was no longer willing to dig

We just found some clad and a part of a fishing lure before I was approached

I want to know what other treasures detectorfreak74 found in that yard a year later!

I think I would have passed as soon as I saw all the doo laying around. Doo and metal detecting is a bad combination.
