Warm spell...allowed for early hunt

Man 55F and the ground has thawed. Decided to get in a short hunt. Went to an area where I played baseball as a kid. Once a year this same area was used when the Circus came to town. I hunted an area about the size of a baseball diamond. I recovered a 1939 Merc dime, 4 wheat pennies 1936, 2- 1944, 1945. Also recovered 3 Rosie dimes and a 72 Kennedy half dollar. My X-Terra-70 then gave me a very sharp signal and a solid 42 on the meter. I thought for sure I had a silver quarter. At about 8" I recovered a one peace brass button. There is no writing on the back. I'm thinking WWII but now sure. Can any one identify. Thanks TomB

Nice finds! Congrats on the silver and the button. The button is a general service issue button. Not sure of date, Beale.

Always a good day when you dig a silver coin. I'm certainly not a military button expert. But the design of the eagle is representative of those used during WW2. Still in good condition with lots of gold gilt. Nnice finds. HH Randy

Sounds like a good spot. You may be right on the button, I would guess WW II and it's in very nice shape as far as military buttons go. You wonder how things wind up where they do, maybe someone from the service came to the circus? Ron
