War Pennies

I was going through some change today in a drawer of mine that had some silver coins and some older wheat pennies one was a 1943 steel . I have been looking to test (as R-n-R has been doing) different items and how they register on the 250. It showed up on my 250 in the iron range (of course). I have seen written on this post that most of us tune out the iron objects. Now what happens if the area you are detecting has lots of coins that you haven't found yet including some of these that are steel and you ignore the iron reading, would that not deter you from finding other more valuable coins that COULD be there amongst the others? This is just a thought. I hate finding trash but you know sometimes this trash can find valuables as well. AAARRRG now i guess when I am in and old site I will have to check the iron icon and hope it is the steel pennie and not a nail.

It's been my experience when you find a steel penny it's pretty rusted and can barely tell what it is.

I know I waste a lot of time but I dig everything. I will never miss a coin that is sitting under a coin.
