i have a prizm iv for a couple yrs.thinking to upgrade a better detector.i was thinking a m6.should i go bigger or better or is that good enough.please let me know.

If your mostly coin and jewelry hunting the M6 is a very nice upgrade. I've found relics, older coins and jewelry with an M6 and appreciate the quick auto GB along with the ability to Lock or Trac when necessary. The 7 tone id option along with very quick recovery speed and the extensive coil selection makes a very versatile detector.I bought and used a DFX and still use an XLT and IDX Pro along with an older Eagle Spectrum and the M6 is a detector with a FUN factor built in and use it often when hunting older trashy sites which is most of the time.If i didn't like like i wouldn't recommend it. bill(de) sums it up pretty well. Lots of choices on coils and very easy to learn.
Now if I can find myself a good XL Pro to compliment my M6.
Good luck with your search,
John

I agree with The Horsesoldier. For a few extra bucks the MXT
will do you well and you get the prospecting mode too.

I have a Prizm IV with a bigfoot coil.I have no complaints with it.I do wish i had waited and got the MXT,but i didn't have enough money at the time and winter was getting close and i had to get out there and detect LOL.By tax return time i will have an MXT with a 6 X 10 DD coil. Then i will have all i need. I feel the Prizm IV with the Bigfoot coil is awesome. But dollar for dollar it would have been close (price ways) to an M6.

I used a new M-6 this summer. It has a great ground balance, fast recovery speed and pretty good ID.It just doesn't seem to have the depth of my other detector. This is in the field and in my test garden, comparing signal to signal.
