Hi I'm just getting into metal detecting I love in Orange County va and will b hunting culpeper orange and spotsylvania va the ground here is real bad high mineralization and I like what iv bn reading on the at pro but being told by people + garret the gold would do better here would like other people's thoughts on that and if any body has ever used either machine in these areas thanks

I use an AT Gold in Culpeper mineral dirt. Has a True all metal mode, but you have to dig all signals. A lot of targets read as iron!!! JMO

Thanks for the info I can't make my mind up on the pro are the gold some things I read say the pro would b better and others say the gold how deep are u able to dig in culpeper ill b digging in spotsylvania and orange as well I think I like the gold better but this will b my first detecter so don't really no much about any of them only what I read

I've the pro but not the gold. If ur hunting relics & coins(in that order) in mineralized dirt would think the gold is the ticket. Because the gold has an adjustable width ground balance window for more mineralization, the disc isn't as adjustable as the pro but is very effective. Have read its a bit deeper and has a threshold for deep whispers + an all metal mode. It' not reccomended for salt water, but good in fresh . I use the pro for coins on land and coins & jewelery in fresh water(i got it to replace 2 of my machines-- )( 1 land & 1 water). The pro is a dandy machine with very good audio in pro mode. The iron audio is just icing on the cake. Which is best for u depends on your area & what u r going after.
