as i had posted earlier i bought my wife a silver umax for Christmas and she really loves it. i have used it on occasion and it's really a blast to use. so now i'm looking at getting a tesoro for myself. i am mainly a cw relic hunter any suggestions on which machine would be better in my area of south central va? i currently own a minelab exII!

Hi GW,

I use a Vaquero here in the fields, swaps and marshes of S.C. for relic hunting. I like the V because it's stable, works great in iron/trash and deep. Others like the Tejon, but it was not my cup of tea, but that's just me.

Hey GW, I have been using the Tejon extensively and it is very easy to set up. I don't understand the mystique that some people talk about involved with GB. All of the Tesoro instruments are stable. But the Vaquero is really nice to use, it is almost unnoticeable as far as weight goes. I have been using the Silver uMax also and it is like a feather but definitely a joy to use. Which ever Tesoro you get you will rejoice in that choice! Nice meeting you GW and I hope you get a Tesoro quickly because us Tesoro fans are finding everything haha! CU later mi amigo. God Bless ya.

If you want a uMax type machine, to share your wife's coils, then this may be a machine to look at. You can still find-em used, and great shape. I love mine wit ha Troy X2 Super 7 on it.
