Wanted to say Hi..........

Add me to the list of happy Tesoro owners. :clapping: I took a Silver uMax in on a trade when I sold my XS, and I have been playing with it. So far, I'm really impressed. Good depth and nice sound as well as a fast response. I think it's a keeper.

Thanks to Tabdog, Monte, Pap and others who have posted in the past with some great ideas. I'm going to do the internal GB on it to see if it can be made a little better.

You have a nice forum here.

Hi Larry,

Welcome from Arkie Land.

That Silver is a nice one.

I hope it works well for you,

Tabdog

Welcome aboard Tesoro Forum, Larry.

Unless you have a problem w GB you may just want to let it be...

There's a lot to be said for simplicity.

Tesoro machines just kinda do what they are supposd to!

Best,
rmptr

Welcome to the site Larry! Very glad to have you on. Congrats on the silver, it is a sweet machine, Beale.

Yeah-switch it to all metal at one of the sites you thing has the most mineralization and bob it as Tab and Monte suggested-do this first. I went to one of these places and there was no change in sound on mine in a/m so I just left it where it was set.

Tesoro makes a nice, light easy to use unit. I think you'll have fun with Silver uMax. Check the GB to be certain it needs adjustment. I don't know how long it has been since you detected without a meter but when I first got the Eldorado it was like culture shock. You may want to dig most targets until you get a "read" on what the Silver is saying.
Pap

Thanks Pap. Meters have their place, but I hunt mostly by ear anyway and use the meter as a tool. I have some special uses for the Silver, it breaks down nicely and fits in my saddlebags where the "others" don't. The tone, volume and "thumb discriminator" gives the user a lot of information.

Perfect fit.......:yikes: Is metal detecting a hobby or a sickness?

It's not a desease.

It's an addiction.

We are all hopeless.

just ask my kids.

Happy Hunting,

Nice bike!
I been taking a XL sissy bar bag resting on the rear rack on the bike - this doesn't interfere riding 2-up, and allows carrying a Tesoro or two broken down.
Mostly use the Tour Master XL sissy bar bag. Allows getting out detecting on a little gas. Just can't get a cruiser off road as well.
And did I say Nice Bike!!!
