Last February, took my detector to Princess Cays (Bahamas), Grand Cayman, Costa Maya and Cozumel. Had a great time finding foreign coins and can't wait till Feb. 06 for our next cruise. I will have an underwater, waterproof detector by then and look out!!!!
Great findings,
Ina

I post this list because I'm receiving many e-mail asking me about beaches where to detect in the Caribbean. Here is some of where I have been before, detecting with sucess. Starting with Puerto Rico.
This island is a U.S.Territory and no passport is requested to be there.
San Juan; This city has many beaches to detect. Here is My list:
<STRONG>1. Ocean Park</STRONG> My favorite because you can dig up many currency, gold and silver as well. If you hunt in the surf, there is chances to find more than in the dry sand.
<STRONG>2. Escambron beach</STRONG>. not to large beach but you can try.
<STRONG>3. Beside to Escambron beach there is another beach called "8" or military beach</STRONG>. It is back to "Sixto Escobar Stadium". Also you can find currency and gold.
<STRONG>4.</STRONG> Pretty far from this beach there is a strech of beach right in front of the Capitol where you can find old spanish coin, old bullets and more(with good luck). This is "puerta de tierra"
<STRONG>5.</STRONG> 5 or 6 miles away from here going to east side there is a large beach (4 miles long)called <STRONG>"Isla verde balneario". </STRONG>You got here tons of sand to dig up and find coins.
<STRONG>West side of Puerto Rico: </STRONG>
<STRONG>1. Boqueron Beach</STRONG>; carry with you "Mosquito repelant"
<STRONG>2. Combate beach</STRONG> right in the southwest of PR.
<STRONG>3. Buje beach</STRONG> This beach it is pretty hidden to find but you can check a local map. I know a TR'Hunter that he'd found several gold ring in this beach. check it out!
<STRONG>4. Rincon balneario </STRONG>
<STRONG>Eastside of Puerto Rico; </STRONG>
<STRONG>1. Luquillo beach balneario</STRONG>; You got more than 3 miles to detect and lost coins to find. May be you will need 2 or 3 days to detect.
Also if you like to eat some typical food check the "Kioskos de Luquillo" right close to this beach.
2. After this beach in the same town of Luquillo is located <STRONG>"Costa azul" beach</STRONG>. Also you can find coins and gold. There are reports of people losing "stick gold neckles 18k" here in this beach.
The advantage of PR is it's not "crowded" with hunters. Sometime I was the only one detecting on those beaches for days.
Any question send me an E-mail.

Hi Jerry My name is jimmy and I was wondering if you were able to metal detect in Jamaica. I'm leaving for Jamaica in a week and I'm hoping to do some hunting. Any advice would be helpful.
