Want to share a thought with you

Yesterday at church the minister spoke of Esau and how he sold his birthright for food. (Gen. 25:32-34). Though our minister was speaking of 'true repentence prepares the way for total restoration of broken relationships' my mind grab hold of a thought - which after the service was over - I shared with the minister and he had to write it down.

Give some thought to this and what might have happened: What if Jesus gave in to satan when he was tempted (Luke 4:1-13) of the devil for 40 days in the wilderness?

Birthrights gave first born children certain priviledges over other siblings in a family. They were next in line of succession - especially if the father was a king then the firstborn would become the next king. Things the father owned were handed down to the firstborn when the father so desired or when the father passed on.

Imagine what might have happened if Jesus failed to do what he had been told by his Father? What if he bowed down to the devil? What if he gave up his birthright for food, or even all the kingdoms that the devil was willing to give Jesus?

Praise God that our Saviour and Lord kept the Words of His Father in his heart and he did what God wanted him to do. Thank you Jesus for not giving in or bowing down and giving away your birthrights to the devil.

Something to think about isn't it.

From what I understand the Bible and my Pastor telling me, God has already won the battle of His will against that of satan. Now the rest is up to us and whether or not we accept the gift of Jesus Christ as our saviour.

There will be many trials and tribulations that are especially hard on Christians, but we can find comfort through our faith that we are on the winning team in the end and in the protective grace of our Saviour.

God is great! and he loves us to no end!

There are enough things that we worry about in life, why worry about this "what if". God's word, as spoken through the Bible, is good enough for me!

Pete,

Good thought for provoking thought.

I know that the scriptures say that Jesus was tempted in the Wilderness after his Baptism by John, the Holy Spirit descending upon him like a dove, and God's acknowledgment of Him as His Son.

However, a thought I offer is: Was Jesus Tempted at all? From His responses to Satan, it seems He had things pretty well in hand, huh? I don't think Satan fully realized the resolve that Jesus carried into His earthly ministry. Yes, Jesus had to undergo earthly temptations.... he had to become "man" in order to fully experience the earthly realm that is worldly in everything under Satan. Yet, He was God incarnate!!!! He was El Shaddai !!!

I believe that everything is subject to the will of God. Everything is within the will of God (that may be hard to accept for some folks). So, even us .... we poor souls.... mankind itself are subject to, and protected by the will of God!!!! Amen ! We have the power to defeat Satan through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!

We are only tempted by the worldly pleasures, when we "allow" the temptations to have affect on our lives.... and admittedly, I allow far to many of them to have an affect on my life.

However, through the Triune Nature of God Almighty, the Plan in force since the Creation, and Jesus' carrying out that plan of the Father, and the Pentecost of the Holy Spirit.... We have deliverance from the Evil One!

Okay... I'll stop now... sorry.... you threw a cravin' on me!:surrender:

God Bless to all,

Kim
