We have been doing the plumbing on a new house up in the mountains north of here. Winter storms have been coming every day and the snow is getting deep here. It is not the best of times to go higher in the hills. The drive up on the main roads was bad enough with snow floor an snowing all the way. I wish Elson and Falk could have been with me as we skidded our way around the icey mountain road! The job site was in a subdivision across a single lane wooden bridge. The house was about a mile in on a dirt (Well, it is dirt several feet down anyway) road. On the way in I passed a truck that had not been moved for a few weeks, Anybody got a frost scraper?

Half a mile farther in on the "Road" we came to the road sign where we turn onto Coyote Lane. A few more storms and we will not be able to see this sign!

After a quarter mile more through the path cut in the snow we were driving on, we got to the house. Notice the snow up on the windows? The heat from inside the house had caused the snow on the roof to settle a lot before they insulated the attic, but you can see the snow depth pretty well. The trucks are sitting about three feet above the ground on packed snow.

The next door neihbor's house was pretty well snowed in as well.

Well, at least we had a porta-potty on the job, to bad you needed a shovel to dig down to get into the door. At times like this you have to ask yourself, "How bad do I really need to go?"

Once safely inside I stepped out on the deck behind the house and took this picture down river.

It was a regular truck rodeo trying to pull the other subs trucks out of the snow so we all could go home at the end of the day, I am glad I have fourwheel drive, chains, and a lot of weight in my truck! I didn't do any detecting up there even though I was told it was a sight where there used to be three teepees and a wigwam.

I have a lot more winter pict from this trip if anyone wants to see some more ice, snow, frozen rivers still running, and frozen water falls let me know. DC

DC.. I am just now getting unpuckered from riding with you on a dry road. No way in heck I would make that ride with you. Even with Elson to hold on to. Thanks anyway for thinking of us.
