I went to some yard sales with my Mom and saw this in a box. I gave a whole quarter for it just so I could show you guys what you can do with your pull tabs. Anything is better than calling them bad words:rofl:

Thats cool!

I should have thousands of them by the time I retire, or sooner judging from the amount I dig up. I wonder if they can be made into a ring? Time to do some brainstorming AW. :)

I have a pal who asked me to save pull tabs (not from metal detecting) for him. I really like this guy so I agreed. For about 2 years I dutifully pulled off every one from every can I drank from and when I filled a big ziplock bag I handed them over. He went crazy. He told me how his RV club does this as a group fundraiser and that they have a big party a couple of times a year on the day they sort and turn in their collection. They get prizes for the most pop tops and on and on. About a month later I see him and he tells me about their latest party and that they raised $125.00 for charity and that he won a prize. He also asked if I would keep saving and I said I would, but told him that I thought he was sort of wasting his time with the pop tops. It is like a dozen guys and who knows how many others saving for them to raise a couple of hundred bucks a year. He is older and retired and told me that it gives these guys a lot of pleasure doing it and it is fun turning nothing (a big barrell of pop tops) into something. I told him next time he collects mine I'm gonna write him a check and he told me he would gladly take it for their fund raiser but that it would not count towards the competition.

One final funny note. These guys built this conveyor belt where the pour pop tops onto one end and crank a handle and they travel past a series of magnets to weed out any that are not aluminum. This thing had to cost at least 200 bucks to build.

Heres what 5 pounds of clean, virgin, pop tops looks like:

That looks like enough to make LL a whole new cheerleader outfit:rofl:

Hoooowheee, Go Lainy, go Lainy.
I think Ill make some of those for the dogs this year. Neat idea A-man.

I like the bracelet.

Summer months, here, at 100+ degrees, we can probably generate that each month.

I'll save 'em this year from the digs, and see how many I come up with.
