WTB Simple detector for permission - WTB Simple detector for permission

I got an amazing permission coming up in May, but the owner, who is an older man, wants to detect too. I use the Deus 2 and my other machine is an Equinox, which would not be good for him. So I’m looking for something inexpensive, lightweight, and easy to use. Ideally I wanted a Tesoro but haven’t found one. LMK what you have. Thanks!

The Equinox can be set up for him. It is effective as is. If he has problems, you can adjust it differently for him. If I was the owner of a permission and wanted to detect too, I would resent having to use a "simple" detector while the one I gave permission has one with all the bells and whistles, especially after he sees the results. I own multiple Tesoros but for someone who has no experience detecting, it would be harder to pick out good targets with them than an Equinox set up for them. I am not sure how a simple detector is better than one of the best on the market. I love Tesoros but my first one, a Compadre, completelybaffled me at first, even after owning an F2 and an Ace 250. Simple doesn't necessarily mean easier to use. While VID is not accurate all the time, it is a pretty good crutch for anyone starting out. If you are worried about weight, put your Deus 2 on full screen numbers, turn the sensitivity down, pick out a program for him and let him use it. I'm sure you could still find stuff with your Equinox and it would be even less expensive to do so. JMO

Good luck to both of you on this permission. I hope you do well.

The Nox is too cumbersome for the woods, esp with the 11” coil, and I’m not giving up D2 for this hunt. :) I know Tesoros pretty well, and it would be just the thing for this guy as he’ll probably never go again. Also for this hunt as I want to dig all non-ferrous targets, so I’ll just set it and go for him.

Sounds like you got a great place to hunt. Reward the property owner with a great machine to find something really good.

I have a Fisher F75, Top of the line, with NEL 5 x 7 coil. Perfect to work in the woods and easy to swing with small coil.
Machine in excellent condition except for arm cuff which show wear. Probably more money than you want to spend
but you can always resell and get your money back. $425 shipped, PayPal F&F.

Sure. Do you have one for sale?
Hi My Fellow TH'er Kapok
I have a White's DFX with 4 coils and lots of other extras for sale. I have it listed on here, but read down as I had to make a correction to the description. PM me if you would like more details.
Thanks ;-)

I agree. The Equinox is an awesome detector, even just using the factory settings. Show the guy how to noise cancel and ground balance and turn him loose. Have him dig every signal and see what happens.

Then he just might beat the pants off of him! Ha ha ha
