No, I'm on the west coast, but that's where I typically go is the east coast. Yeah, I agree, tired of going to the beach access and finding the gate locked when it should be open. A lot of change over there in the last 40 years. It can get frustrating. At least over the years I've got to go before everything got built up. I've made some fantastic finds. Any place over there you never know what you'll dig up.

I didn’t know they made a 15” ultimate. I only have a 13” and 15” x 12” SEF COIL THE 15” had a small nick in the outter sheath. It was professional repaired. THE ultimate 13” has epoxy resin. Sorry. I did a sloppy job !!😀😀😃😃

Even though I own the Deus II, and a Legend, I still use my Sovereign GT and modified Excalibur II at the beach. I have a meter on my Sovereign too.
Seems as though they all offer something different according to your hunting environment. All are great top notch detectors. I still have a White's XL Pro that I like to play with, and a good easy fun detector for the kids as well. Funny, I remember when that was top of the line.

Eggzakly. Love my GT.
Still dig out the oll MXT.
Have the Legend and Manticore.
But that GT still kicks but on depth.
Though my oll Explorer xs with the 15" WOT/ Wild orange thing coil is the deepest. Though Heavy.

Yeah, as Odanscoils said above, as well as others, it's known to be a great coil with really good coverage due to its size, with fantastic depth, but it's a heavy one. Most Detech, NEL, and SEF Coils of that size range are usually lighter from what I've seen. A lot of posts on here showing the different coil comparisons and weights. You can do a search to find the info.

If that 15" is as light as the 13" your gonna love it.
My Sovereign GT set up.
Bagging the box. Just swinging the coil an cheat meter
That's funny how close your Sovereign set up is to mine, almost identical. That's definitely the way to go. As you can see, I have the 13" Ultimate on it. Love it.

I wonder if the 15” Wot coil is any good?
On my Explorer xs. On a white sand beach on lake Erie. Using my hand mattox to dig.
I dug a 1950's silver plated can/bottle opener.
So deep I was at arm's length leaning into the hole and last scoops with that digging tool I got it. At least 30+ inch's.
In damp sand that's still my favorite tool.
Yellowed handle mattox. Bunch of my digging tools.

That cool will also skip most small junk.
That's been my experience anyway.

Yeah, I use the 10"x12" SEF on my Excalibur mod, for mostly in the water, also a fantastic coil. Had it for a long time, and it still works. Great performance and quality from the SEF Coils.
It seems that the 15" Ultimate must be a good coil as no one wants to part with one. If I do get one, I'm temped to keep it for my Sovereign, and just put a different connector on the 13" Ultimate, and use that on my Excalibur mod. I'll have to think about that one? 🤔

Thanks to all for the responses and comments. I decided to purchase a new one (Ultimate 15"), since I couldn't find a used one. Funny, I think it's going on the Sovereign GT first, as I think it will give me the most on the beach, and it's likely that the Ultimate 13" will be used for the Excalibur mod. I don't think I could go wrong either way. Happy hunting to all still using BBS, and to everyone as well.
Obviously there's a reason why some of us still use BBS on the beach. 😁

Found a ton of gold with all the Sovereigns. They all paid for themselves many times over. However, the joy of wireless can't be understated. Unfortunately today, gold is as elusive like never
before. As much as I loved to own one of the newer Nox or Maniticore, Id never pay for them anytime soon. I'll stick with my Deus 2 and Im sure, Im not missing much.

Good uck with your setups. Its all about finding the right location. My beaches have turned into junk jewelry heaven.
