Went to a local resort beach this afternoon and scored a badly corroded walking liberty half dollar (silver) 1916-1947. I doubt it has any value other than the silver in it's current condition. I can just make out the outline of the eagle and the walker, the date is completely illegible. Still it's nice to find silver.
Also pocketed a 1948 English penny and a bunch of the usual junk (lead weight, clad, tabs, etc.) but also a solid brass oar lock which was kind of neat.
Even a bad day detecting is better than a good day at work.
I'm looking for a digital camera locally so I can post some of these finds.
Anyone with info on Bermuda Metal Detecting Clubs???
