Walker and ring

It's been a slow year for me - only been out five times in the last two months. We have finally got some good rain so I feel better about digging in the turf at the parks. Went out this morning with my wife, the first time she's gone with me (she doesn't detect though). She took the dog for a walk in the park while I detected. I picked an area which would not be far from where she was walking the dog, although I have hit this area many times.

Second or third target was a mangled sterling ring with some kind of semi precious stone (yellow and brown and carved a little). Picked up a couple of wheats, 1917 and 1928. After about an hour and forty five minutes, I called her and said I was ready to go. She was a five minute walk from the car. so I continued to detect as I moseyed back to the car. Got a good 00-27 signal , but not too deep, the scale read about 5-6 inches. I was a little surprised when the 1946 Walker popped out. So shiny in the sun. I did nick it on the obv. rim at 10 o'clock, but don't feel too bad since it has old damage on the rev. rim. Only my third silver half.
HH, everyone.

Thanks for sharing. And really nice find, congratulations.

I found a 1972 half (40% silver) on a dime signal at four inches. I was at a construction site where signals were weird. I was presently surprised as you were.

I think the stone may be a tiger's eye after doing some research online. The reason I was surprised on the half is that there are certain flattened screw caps that will hit 00-27, and this wasn't too deep. You just never know. Thanks for the comments.
