Waiting For My New CTX

Well... I've been a long time DFX swinger but that's about to change this week. I've been doing a lot of research and have decided to dive into Minelab with the CTX 3030. I'm sure there's going to be a learning curve, but it looks like my kind of detector. I almost went over to Minelab years ago when the SE pro came out but decided to wait.

Any suggestions for making the transition over to the CTX? Is there a place where people share there exchange2 detector setup patterns to try?

Thanks in advance... I will be posting once I start Mindlabbing... I can't wait either!!!

Look above the beginning of the posts on the CTX forum start page for the Red rectangle titled "CTX 3030 Resouce Center".

CTX 3030 Resource Center

Click the above link. There you will find video's, downloadable programs, TID's, and more. Good luck and welcome aboard.

I myself like the E-trac better.....but still have a 3030....I just like the sounds of the E-trac.....and the X-1. The 3030 is a heck of a machine to play with....sorta like when you got a new computer....you know in the 80"s.

I came from a dfx to an etrac to a 3030. You will have some learning to do. There are a lot of videos and this forum to help. Stay with simple stock programs until you learn the 3030 lanquange. It will take time ,but be well worth it.

Thanks for all of the feedback... I am really excited to hit the ground run with the CTX... It's almost like Christmas... LOL... The videos that I've been watching have been helpful. I'm sure some of them are just eye candy videos to make your mouth water.

Good luck with your detector!

You guys are killing me ha ha. I think once you master a machine that guy is dangerous and is hard to beat. My friend for instance uses some old whites not even sure which one looks like a bread box hanging under his fore arm oh wait that's the same on new whites too. Any way I was two feet away when he dug a gold coin it was a dollar. He tossed it in his pouch like nothing after all it was his third. I will stick with minelab thank you very much but im willing to bet not many etrac or 3030 guys can say they have three gold coins. And his machine was made back when the tv show M.A.S.H. was popular. He is just sweet with his machine knows it like a 13 year girl knows how to text.

I found an 1829 Half Dime in excellent shape with my previous detector which was an AT Pro. Would that detector be on the same level? No. Would it be fair to compare the two? No. It really depends if your detectors swings over the target and is detectable for the machine. I can say that my CTX 3030 could consistently outperform the AT Pro in the same conditions. Then again, it's not fair to compare those two.

Well I look silly now there was more posts to this last night guys were getting worked up over etrac and 3030. I was just saying learn a machine well and that's half the battle. No doubt that the high end detectors capabilities far exceed older or less expensive machines. But as far as me being new to high end machine I think I will wait to hunt next to the gold coin guy. I can see it now he is up two silvers and will keep asking how much you say that machine of yours costs? Ha ha

Good luck with your CTX

will, I think you are responding to the wrong thread...I don't believe any posts have been removed.
