Wait for the reviews...

Just thought I would let the Deus fans know I saw the first used XP for sale; Why is it for sale so fast? Is it what everyone thinks it is? Make sure you wait on the reviews to come in. I purchased a T2 after I heard all of the bugs were worked out of the machine. Turned out to be one of the best (and deepest) units I ever owned. Remember the fist run of the Garrett AT Pro? And what about where the Deus is made? Anyone heard of the other version of the Peugeot?

Just my opinion.

Not sure where you saw a used Deus for sale since the number out there are very small and a backorder situation exists . . . . . can't imagine it had much of a discount tag attached to it . . . and if it did, the owner must have been desperate for the cash.

As far as the bugs being worked out, remember that the Deus has been in full production for more than 2 years and has undergone several software upgrades since the introduction with 2.0 being the current version out there. The company is continually working on new features and tweaking existing ones and unlike other detectors that require them to be sent to the factory for updates, the Deus allows users to update the software via a USB cable and an internet connection.

And not sure about the message you are trying to send about the unit coming from France . . . . . XP's owner Alain is a veteran hunter and talented designer which is what drove him to start the company more than a decade ago. It would be great of all the innovations came from the US but unfortunately that is not always the case . . . . Australia (Minelab and Coilteck), Bulgaria (Detech) . . . and others . . . . .

Yes, time will tell how the Deus does in the US but the initial reports have been favorable

The seller said that he need the money for a new roof for his house. New roof is not exactly cheap, so he is forced to sell the Xp Deus, these things can happen to anybody.:sadwalk:

Deus is nearly 2 and half years on the market (even in US some users have it already for 2 years), no wonder that now and than one will be for sale...

I found that post and yes, the man even said he had to put up a roof and needed the money. And the Deus lasted all of 2 hours before being sold! Why even ask that question??? :goodnight:

You are correct ray-mo.

Some of the site users have over 2 years experience.

Some of which we have passed on to save the new owners time and frustration.:beers:Jerry.

I don't have a XP-Dues,But with any new detector there will always be some that go up for sale after one or two times used. I think alot of people are just to used to there old machine and don't like the new one. It's like that old comfortable jeans you have that you love. Then you buy a new pair and don't like them at first ,But once broke in you love them. Some had rather not give them the time to break in. And thats O.K. as everyone is different.

Certainly no fault of the detector.

Having the Deus for a few weeks now and hunting with it, along with hitting my test garden.. I doubt if anyone who uses it more than 3 hard days will ever want to get rid of it because of its functionality. It definitely is turning into a very precise trash separating gem.. Give it time it will prove itself here just like across the pond...

Donkeys don't go to school? Nobody likes a smart ass. :cheekkiss:

Amazing how many people try to hate on the Deus. A lot of jealous people out there who obviously don't like seeing all the videos of the Deus picking the good stuff out from under the iron. Those people also don't like that Deus owners don't have to carry a bag of bricks for that performance. Keep on hating people, I'll keep digging while you are busy typing and trying to find new reasons to hate a great product simply because you can't have one.

As for you Rob, are you serious??? Seems you haven't read the million posts about how this is NOT a new machine

The Deus is tried and tested and has proven to be a fantastic machine for a large variety of users/needs. I will be getting mine tomorrow and simply can't wait! There's no amount of hate that is going to spoil the fun for me.

HH Everyone (and let's enjoy all these nutters that we come across along the way)

"just sayin"

Never said I did not like the Deus. I think the Deus has some interesting features and performs kind of like the Gold Bug/Tek 2 in response - time will tell. For that kind of money, the Deus has a killer warranty - 2 years; wait a minute, since some of you out there want to be connected to something so good, you won't need a warranty. Wonder if they are going to be like Fisher, Garrett, Tesoro, etc. when it gets out of warranty and it has to be taken in for repair? Or are they going to be like, say Minelab - a few more clams? As for the Peugeot? I put myself through college working on those cars and I can say I never had any student loans - thank you Peugeot, Mercedes, Porsche, etc. By the way, I have an S10 with almost 300K miles on it; just depends whether a man or woman is driving it or changing the oil. Also, tell your WW2 vet father, grandfather or uncle you just sent $1800 over to France. Well, they are seeing the light after 50 or so years and at least the Deus isn't made in Iran or another country that really hates us. Now back to my original statement; I just like to see anything in action for a while before I buy into it. By the way, I am a coach and I have always said sports reveals character; so do forum posts.

I guess if you've had problems with past detectors then getting a good detector warranty is probably important. Myself, I've owned a lot of detectors over the last 30+ years and own 6 currently, 2 from the 80's and they all work fine. I have never, knock wood, ever had a detector fail. Never ever. I've had a few that had a weak LCD display, but it was more an annoyance than anything. I've have and never will buy a detector based on a warranty.

The Deus has been out for over 2 years overseas and everything that I've read (reviews, posts, manuals, etc..) has given it very good/excellent grades. And since it's been out 2 years and they've had a chance to address the bugs, I felt the time was right to purchase one. I'm not worried about the warranty, if it breaks after two years, I'll get it fixed. There is nothing in the history of the XP brand to indicate that the quality of their products is anything less then excellent. As far a France is concerned, they were on our side during WW II, so I'm not sure what that is about, unless you only support U.S. made products, which in today's global economy does not make sense to me. If I waited, the real possibility exists that the price will go up (it normally does when demand is more then supply).

The French and the British built Concorde together so building the first cordless detector is no great surprise.

Iam a Minelab man through and through having owned many of their excellent machines.

When they catch up with the XP Deus with its lightness, cordless and recovery speed I will get another Minelab out of loyalty. :beers: Jerry.

If you say it is a great detector, I have to believe you. From your video's, you have used the XP a bunch in a short time.

The proof is always in the individual results. A Deuce in my hands will probably not get the same end result as a Deuce in your
Hands.

Keep up the good information and video's

Chuck
