Wahooo! Just ordered a Tiger Shark!!!

Finally ordered a new Tiger Shark with my wifes blessing!!!! I will be using it for freshwater hunting and some land use. I am going to get the Tesoro hip mount pouch for land use. Now all I need to do is get an outlaw or Vaquero and my arsenal of made in America with lifetime warranty machines will be complete. I already own a Silver uMax and can't say enough good things about it! The kids will use the silver and I will use the tiger until I can get the outlaw or vaquero.

If any has had any experience with the Tiger Shark post and let me know how it has worked for you.

Did you get the 8 or 10.5 coil?Keep your dis as low as you can, like 1 or 2,
or better yet hunt all metal dig it all.on land keep it about 3.5 - 4 to knock out nails.
Good luck.

Great post! Good that you take the kids along too...We will await the wonderful big gold ring or necklace you find, and laugh as its confiscated by the Missus!
This is a great hobby for Married guys...Good for the health, finds are worth something, and no chance of ever getting hit on by some floozy doing this!

Congratulations! A Tiger Shark is on my want list.

I got the 10.5" coil. I was looking for a little more depth. I have learned to hunt in all metal mode with my silver umax. I then go disc. and check the target out a little better. Target seperation with the Tiger and the bigger coil wasn't really an issue to me when you are using a sand scoop. The detector beeps, I scoop. This process is repeated until I fill my wheel barrow with rings and coins! I can't wait to get it!!!! The Tiger is typical Tesoro- A whole lot of bang for the buck! Also on a water detector a lifetime warranty is a must! NOBODY else has one! You gotta make good detectors to do that.

Next step is either a Vaquero or Outlaw. (leaning the outlaw way) Then I will have three Tesoro's! It might take a little while but haven't ruled out getting a DeLeon or Cortes.

You are living my dream. I have been eyeballing the shark as an upgrade to my Silver uMax. Looking at coils for the uMax, but would prefer a shark to take in the ocean. I look forward to hearing your impression.

Jamiek, the Tiger Shark is a VLF freshwater detector and the Sand Shark is a PI detector that works really well in saltwater. The easiest way to get more coils for the Silver uMax is to just by an Outlaw with three coils!!! I am thinking about doing that soon!

As soon as the ice goes out I will give you a heads up on how the Tiger Shark does in the water. Hopefully I will get some land use on it before then if the frost is out of the ground. Right now we have 2-3 feet of frost in the ground and about 6-10" of snow on top of that.

You will love it. I enjoy how easy it is to use. I love the quack sound. I have the 8" coil. It will find what some of the high dollar unites cannot find. I have owned one before. Glad I got the TIGER SHARK. Thats all there is to it.... KEN

The Tiger was my first water machine but it's gone now and an AT Pro is in it's place. I really miss the Tiger Shark now if that tells you anything:rolleyes:

Congrats on, what I consider, to be the best fresh water hunting detector made. I've found more gold, jewelry, ect ect hunting with the Tiger shark, than any other detector I've used. Someone said above, listen for the Quak, sounds like a duck, gold for sure. Hunt all metal and you will learn the language of the shark soon enough. bobby hair pins make a sound all their own, but it's the Quak you will come to love. As for Salt water, I think Tesoro over sold that feature years ago and it never worked at all in the New England area salt water. It's really a Fresh Water Hunter, again, the best if you ask me...

It just arrived today and I am reading the manual through a couple of times before I assemble it and test. It is definitely well built. I ordered it from Miller MDZ over the weekend and he shipped on Monday and it was here today on Tuesday. Now that was excellent service! As soon as I get it together I will start air testing and playing with the controls. I will post air test results as soon I get them.

Just remember, don't let the air test fool you. You will always get best performance when hunting a well balanced detector on the ground itself. This is even more true with PI units.....
