WAAAAAH! I want to go beeping. Wish our weather would turn decent....

hang in there.i know what you mean i won't be able to hunt until the end of April here the ground usually is thawed out by then.

 Yah, the ground is frozen here, too, but my goal this year is to go out when it's civil weather-wise anyway. That's anything over 35 degrees, sunshine and little wind. Right now it's 12 degrees with 0 wind chill. Due for upper 40's by Sunday, though:clapping:

After listening to you guys, I am so happy to live in CA. 86 degrees today on my back porch, nights it cools to the 40's. I am leaving tomorrow for Reno so I will get a taste of the cold. And yes, I am bringing the Yeller Feller. My bro and my son-in-law already have some sites picked out. Of course you live in an older part of the country so there is a better chance of old coins, but hey, I'm happy with what I find. There is always a trade off. You know what they say, location, location, location.

I started a job last week and it really cuts into my MDing time. I get home and mow the grass and it's dark. I did the brakes on the car and it's dark. Another night my daughter needed rescued, then it's dark. It is the Christmas season and you have to do all the social things. Come on week end. :detecting:

Well you don,t want to come to North Dakota,it was -18 below this morning.Ground starting to get purty hard.

Well, you could come up here too. Our rain doesn't get you wet, and there are still a bunch of one and two dollars lying around.

For what you find I could stand the cold. You can hunt in snow but it ain't easy in the pouring rain. We broke our rain record for the month of November - got 12 inches. Wish we could break some heat records like we did last February when it was 70-80 degrees every day of the month. Usually it's cold as a well digger's butt in the Klondike with ice and snow in February.

I've been there. BRRRR! One of the coldest places is in Chicago or Waukegan, Illinois on the banks of Lake Michigan in the dead of winter. Will freeze the gonads off a brass monkey.

Nuther thing I hate is early darkness. In the summer it doesn't start getting dark till about 10:00 PM here but just the reverse in winter. When I was in Northern Idaho we were still out fishing in the bright sunlight at 10:30 at night in summer.

There's always the chance of silver dollars since years back that was the coin of the realm in Reno and Vegas. When I lived in Vegas my pants were bulging all the time from pockets full of silver dollars. That's all you ever got in change.
