Dos the VX3 have the audio problem with Pin Pointing the V3i did????? Wen you pull the Trigger in P/P the no audio thing???
Thanks, Mickfin

That was not a problem specific to the V3i Mick, that will and has happened to many types of detectors. Someone can find the past posts/threads but I think it is called audio overload due to large targets, hot rocks and mineral pockets. When it has happened to me, it was always a target I did not really want to dig anyway. The last time that it happened to me, it was a baseball sized hot rock and that was many months ago.

For the type of hunting that you like do Mick and the simplicity of the VX3, I think you two would be a good match.

In another post we had several guys with detectors other than Whites having the same problem. Here is another reason;

No pinpoint sound
If you can't hear a target in pinpoint there is a good chance it is a real small piece of iron or something really deep. This is especially true if the target chirps or gives an iffy response. The deep target and sometimes the small piece of iron can be determined but turning up the all metal sensitivity. If this doesn't help then I would bet on it being iron. Iron can be very close to the ground balance point when in the ground and this can make pinpointing hard due to the target almost at the ground balance point. Again just pulling the trigger a coouple of times and pin pointing again usually works.
