VX3 Frequencies

When hunting in all three frequencies with the VX3, is there any one of the frequencies that hunt deeper than the other two? I know the MXT is 14Khz and has a max deep on targets of all kinds. Will the 22.5 go any deeper on the same targets that the other frequencies won,t pick up? I think i am lost myself. I can,t put in words what i want to say.If i hunt in 7.5 Khz will it still go as deep as the 22.5, i think is what i want to say. Any help from anyone would maybe get me lined out. Thanks Flintstone

The lower freqs. tend to get a little more depth.

Hi John, You mean if i hunt in 2.5 or 7.5 I will get deeper than all three? I know that alot of good detectors hunt about 7.5, would that be the best to hunt in all the time? Thanks Flintstone

If you use just one frequency the detector uses all of its power to the frequency you use so it will be more sensitive when uses one but all of them they can go as deep if of course individually they could penetrate the ground with the meaning that each freq for specific targets. 22.5 small targets , 7.5 medium, 2.5 large targets. 2.5 can penetrate ground where it is mineralized because ignores tiny bits of ground therefore small targets and can get a deep one but large. Combining all 3 you should get best of performance for all around hunt with the better results.

Many variables to your question but simply put, higher conductors hit harder on the lower frequencies (slightly more depth) and the low conductors hit hardest on the higher frequencies. Most cents, dimes, quarters will hit hardest on 2.5. One nice thing about three frequency mode is if you get a quarter VDI but the target is hitting hardest on 7.5, you have a pop top.

Thanks guys, Larry i have seen people talk about how you can tell the deference between a pop top and coin, but didn,t know how. Thanks i will watch for that next time out. Flintstone

Hello all, Im new here but....Flinstone, I have found that if you run in single frequency ( witch ever ) you will gain dept for sure....whites says that in 3 Fq mode RX gain is passed through in 1/3's and in single fq all the RX gain is going to one, in return you will get better depth. i seen to be true in my machine.....I do run the Vx3, fisher F75ltd, fisher F70 and a whites XLT
