VOLTAGE OVERLOAD e trak message

Hello

I am new to this forum. Have an etrak which is about 3 years old. Use it in hot climates. It intermittently pops up a message VOLTAGE OVERLOAD and makes a downward spoiling sound and shuts off. I can do a soft reset and sometimes it will be ok for another hour or so. Other days it comes on and there is no problem. I have called the minelab guys and they surprisingly don't know what I'm referring to. Seems like if the machine is popping up the message someone should know what is going on. Anyone have any ideas? Thinking about going to the 3030 but not sure if it is that much better. Also would like input on that.

Thank you

I've had that a couple of times on a four year old machine with thousands of hours on it but it keeps on ticking. Friend had it on a warrantied machine that didn't come back and it amounted to a mother/control board repair.($800 non covered) I have accepted that if it doesn't come back after shutting it off , at this point with no warranty , it would be cheaper to buy another machine.

Thanks for the reply, I'm thinking that probably I'm in the buy another detector category, use this one till completely goes out. I haven't kept track of hours on this etrak but probably not more than a thousand.
