Vlf or pi

Both, i use the PI Sand Shark in the wet sand and water and the Fisher F5 in the dry sand.

If there is not a lot of junk i will use the Sand Sark in the dry sand also

I had to make that kind of decission and i chose the Xcal. I opted for it because of the disc. I just didnt know any of the hunters in the area enough to know what the conditions were in the water. I did know the wet/dry sand because i was using an explorer. Based on the trash i could find in AM and knowing a lot of this trash would be moved to the water it made sense to first get a disc machine. By the way it paid for its self in 2 weeks. Where as with a PI id be going out there blind and if it was a trash hole id end up getting the Xcal anyway once i dug enough trash and found a bit of gold. It just seemed like a faster process to pay for a machine..... once its paid for you should know if a PI works out there during times of the season.... if so you will have the money in finds to pay for it. Ive not bought a PI yet.... but on would work im ny area if you had the patiences to dig bobbie pins, bottle caps, fishing lurs and hooks. Im talking about targets a good foot deep in chest water. I never hunted in AM with a dirt machine so it was a good choice based on my hunting habbits. Trust me you will be digging enough deep targets even with a disc machine.

I use the Garrett Infinium LS because it is the deepest detector out there, go's about a foot deeper than the Excal

I hate to dig a penny a foot deeper than the Xcal out there neck deep..... because that would be a long dig. Let alone a bobbie pin, bottle cap, fish hook, sinker......
