Hey all my brother and I will be visiting relatives in the LaSalle/Peru area this coming weekend, got any areas to suggest to go? LOL i know your arent gonna tell your good places but some hints maybe?

You might want to get ahold of the Detecting Club in LaSalle/Peru. They are IVHRRA, which is: Illinois Valley Historical Research and Recovery Association. Here is there web site info:

Good Luck

Welcome to Central Illinois but sorry that I will not be much help. I just don't get that far North to hunt.

I live well North of Larry and I don't get that far Northeast either. I will say that Princeton, Illinois isn't a very detector friendly town, but that is still well South of where you will be. Some state parks in Illinois allow detecting and some don't, so if you consider those, call ahead. Good luck

Thanks for your responses, guess I didnt realise you all were that far south of there.
Using some 1870's/1880's maps i found a couple parks that are still there on google earth, I'm sure been hunted to death but maybe the ctx3030 will find some goodies others have missed.Hopefully the weather co-operates, take care and good luck to you.

You never know what you might find. I for one, never think a place is "hunted out". Good luck and keep us posted. HH, Nancy

Most of us live in and around Peoria, Illinois.
