Managed to sneak off to Southeast Iowa for a couple of days and meet up with Dale IA to do a little relic hunting. First time of actual relic hunting for me and did it show  .We were supposed to get 1-2" of snow starting about 3:00 but it started at 11am and by 2:00 there was at least 4" and blizzard conditions  Heres a pic of Dale and I just as the snow was starting. We still managed to last until around 3:00 though.

We did go out Saturday for a few hours after picking up Bradley and I managed to find my first 32 cal musket ball :yo: that was too cool. Bradley found the larger musket ball and gave it to me as inspiration.I also snagged 2 suspender buckles, some pottery chard's (before snow)part of a Indian trade bracelet and some interesting iron pieces.

THE DINNER
First I have to thank Dale and charming wife Patricia for the wonderful hospitality and delicious dinners. WOW what a cook
After hunting Saturday we all met at Dales house for dinner. Bradley and his lovely bride Judy,Dale & Patricia and myself.
We had stuffed chicken, cheesy potato's,string bean casserole, cranberry salad, and fresh rolls
As you can see the food was wonderful but not enough to feed Ray ;)

Here Bradley and I are shoveling with 2 hands and everyone went back for seconds, eat your heart out Ray

After dinner Chris stopped by to say hello since he couldn't hunt due to work. If this isn't the sorriest bunch of relic hunters I don't know what is

Ain't them Iowa folks great Keith, fun group to hunt with forsure, looks like it was pretty cold in that field. I enjoy relic hunting, had a great time with Brian hunting that mellon field, I may have to try a few fields out here and see if I can't snag a keeper. I'm glad you got away Keith, looks like you and the rest of the hunters had a great time, I know you eat good, I would have

to california to see one of my brothers, he's not doing so well. This year I have to replace my work truck also plus I had plans for a trip to canada but everything is on hold right now, if I can make that trip to Iowa you know I will but I gotta wait and see what happens with my brother first. Man that food sure looked good

Sorry to hear about your brother, Ray---- Hope everything works out for you. I know everyone's thoughts will be with you.
Dale

Next time I plan on taking some time off and hunting with you guys and taking you to some of my favorite hunting spots. I can almost promise you and Ray some silver. I have a spot that continues to surprise me (seated, barbers and lots of other goodie's). Look forward to you and Ray coming down and I know a place that has tenderloins the size of pie plates just for Ray (bet he can't eat more than more five).
