Hi, all:
A block from my house is the original high school for our town built over 100 years ago. Next to it is an athletic field that was where the football games were held. It's been pounded to death over the years. I've been working it some with my Vision. Every year we have a town carnival and the rides are set up on the field. Last weekend was the carnival. It was over at midnight, Saturday, and the carnival was gone by 8:00 AM. I hunted it some Sunday AM and again, yesterday. Found $6.54 in clad. Mainly listening for shallow clad coins, but keeping my ears alert for a deeper signal. I got a solid signal that read peeny at six inches. I dug a plug and removed some dirt and at six inches out popped a half of a 1942 wheat cent. One thing I really love about the Vision is how loud it reads, even on deep targets. No whisper signals with this beast. A little while after that I found a "gold" dollar. Interesting enough it was a James Monroe dollar. My first name and middle name is James Monroe. I have been fortunate enough to find a real one dollar gold piece at a civil war camp a few years ago. A mint condition 1857. This past Spring I found a half cent that was too corroded to find a date. I'll keep pounding this athletic field with my Vision. The more I use it the better I like it. Still waiting to find my first silver coin, but I know it will be soon.
Thanks for looking and keep on diggin'
