Virginia State Seal Buttons

New member
Yesterday I purchased three Virginia State Seal buttons at a flee market. All three buttons have 13 stars withe the point of the spear touching one of the stars. The back of the first button is marked Scoveill Mfg. Co. Waterbury. The other two buttons (with cloth on both) are marked Baker & McKenney NY. I have ID the first button as CW period but have not ID the two Baker & McKenney NY. Any help ID these three buttons would be appreciated. Thanks in advance TomB

Baker & McKenney,/ Military Goods,/ 141/Grand St./ New-York." Records show that the firm operated at that address from 1864 until it became James H. Ridabock & Co. in 1883. From what little research I did, Baker & McKenney made all types of military items.

Thanks Dave..I could not find any information. TomB

After a bit more research I have determined that the three buttons are from the 1870 to 1890 time period, thus post Civil war..
I consider them a good fine for my button collection. TomB
