Vintage Teknetics.

Found a Teknetics 8500B Hipmount on Ebay. Got it cheap as the seller didnt know how to test it. It works great. Got it setup and balanced. After 30 minutes, I had found a quarter on edge, 3 dimes and a handful of pennies. My yard has been hunted alot. Pioneer, Whites DMX, Ace 250. The ace I hated. Hard to pinpoint, falsed alot even with sens. turned down. Much prefer the old Tek
Next project is to depth mod it. Perhaps find the 10 inch coil for it. As odd as it sounds, I missed having a threshold tone. The analog meter is Accurate. Have a few more tests to figure where gold reads most. I run a low disc, and use the meter, as well as the tone id. I may be giving up a lil depth to a newer digital, but I would rather have a machine I am familiar with and know how to use. Also.... like the surprise that comes up occasionally.

Does anyone here still use a vintage TEK?

I sold mine about three months ago, it was an 8500B as well.
I'm thinking there isn't a depth mod on the 8500, I know there is on the Mark One?
