there attitudes about finding artifacts this is it. The Government and it s historical preservationist should rethink their positions on Metal Detecting Privateers and establish a law similar to England's. Both the land owner and the MD hunters share in a cash settlement with the Government and the Gov gets the goodies. Would this encourage detectorists to report and turn in finds - YES. Now there is no incentive to share historic finds with the rest of the country. Don
