I have driven past this area 1000 times over the years but never swung the coil over it or even walked on it. I only had about 1.5 hrs to hunt so I had to stay close to home and decided what the heck, might has well check it out. I'm not sure how old the section is but the newest penny I found was a '63. There was a recent plug up near the pavilion so I circled back thinking maybe someone had hit around that section recently. I ended up with 8 wheats and 2 silvers in less than 1.5 hours. I will definitely be going back to that section (I did go back the very next day and got a very unexpected silver - editing that video now). Make sure to like and subscribe!
Also spent about 30 minutes in some woods and got some old wheaties ('18, '19, '36). I plan to check that area out again after the mosquitos are gone.
I also hit a section of the park with a non-detecting friend. He found a postcard post marked 1911 and showed where people used to swim in one of the lakes. I got a couple wheats but I think it's been dug out. Also hit an old football field and scored another Merc.
