Video of the Sorex Pro testing against the F-75

I was able to remove 2 feet of snow last week from the test garden......and was able to get some of the water gone.

This is just comparing signals from the Sorex Pro with the 10" DD against the F-75 with the stock 11"" DD. I try to make comparisons with as close to identical setups as possible.

You can see the settings I use for the F-75. I personally do not usually use BOOST mode...I always liked the DE best...that is my preference. However I used both modes here. Both detectors are setup very similar as far as sensitivity and disc. I try to run my F-75 with disc around 5-6..that is just me. I like to hear the iron but I do not like how jumpy it gets below a disc of 3-4. Since the ground was moist 6 worked best....any lower and it was too jumpy.

As always this is not to establish the kings of depth. However you have to compare any unkown detector to atleast one if not 3 or 4 others in it's price range. The Sorex runs a tad less than the F-75...although if it were sold here by a dealer I would gues it would be the same price.

Overall the depth capabilities were the same. I have done multiple comparisons with the F75/F70 and the Sorex. Overall they are the same in depth with each one having a few targets it hits deeper. For an example...since the Sorex has a 7 Khz coil on it is about an inch less in depth on a nickel..which I forgot to video as that is buried in another section of the yard. Now when i put the smaller DD 14Khz coil on the Sorex I get that inch back.

Now the F75 runs at what...13 KHZ...so it has a bit more sensitivity to nickels and gold as well as small targets. If I had a 10" 14 KHZ coil I would have used but honestly unless it is a low conductor the difference is slight if any.

As always...this is just to show potential of the Sorex....your interpretation of of that is up to you.

So here is the video.....It should be done processing...

Are these detectors sold by a forum Sponsor... Are they from overseas........ what exactly are you suggesting by the Comparison.

I'm not against this..Just curious what your motives are ......... Are you a potential dealer, or now a dealer. Are these detectors now, or soon going to be something we can buy from our dealers ???

Thanks I will Appreciate your explanation.. Again not a smart-alec reply..Just trying to understand your point.... Do you feel their better, Cheaper, and the same results as the F75.. ????

Here is the answer.

I am NOT a dealer of any kind and never have been. Actually been on these forums for 10 years although that was on the friend and finds forum years back.

Anyway, what I am doing first is just seeing how well they work. Might as well video them as I go. What I would hope is that if they show promise, and I think they do, maybe there will be some interest in getting a dealer interested. Kind of like the Deep Tech's right...took a few years before someone picked them up. Or atleast maybe get a few people interested in ordering a few directly from overseas and try to get more than just myself testing them. I can explain how to order them directly but this is an area I am not sure if I am crossing any forum rules so again I have to be careful.

Now someone is going to think I must get some kind of kickback....and I understand that. But no....I get nothing out of it actually...I am not reimbursed....I just like to see what else is out there.

How to answer the question are they available here...well no...like the Deep Techs used to be you had to order from Bulgaria directly...or Torkey for the NokTa I think...same here accept it is Russia

Maybe that is a little clearer and maybe not....I have to not break any forums rules and nor do I want to....so you have to step lightly and not make it appear I am doing something I am not...which is selling.

Now...would I ever consider it.....? The straight answer.....I really do not want to become a dealer guys. Like I said maybe down the road a person setup who is a true dealer will think about it....but that won't happen unless someone is aware of them. Then...no one is going to even consider it until someone else is the guinea pig....so call me MR. Pig.

Now as I test the next model to come out I will sell the previous version off on the forums..here or somewhere else...but not as a dealer.

Did I explain this correctly......I sound like a politician dang it....:)

If this was an open forum with no restrictions hey I would say...here is a reliable source to get them...and I would post info...instead of being hedgy...or basically not doing that. these are the rules and I will abide by them.

Oh what was my impression as compared to the F-75. I think the build is a bit better....not alot...but abit. It is a bit cheaper at the moment if ordered direct from overseas. As for performance....that is personal impression I suppose. i think overall it has an edge....not in all cases but overall. It has more adjustability and adaptability with different coil sizes and frequencies....and way WAY more stable with the same depth and sometimes a bit more....but depth is subjective so lets call it a tie.

I used to be registered under Scott Me until I moved to Az 4 years ago and I registered under azsh07 then....and I did not want to change my user name or register again. In case someone wonders why my registration date is only 4 years. I used to hang on the Fand F forum with Todd Ma

Hi Scott,

I appreciate the time and energy that you put into this video and others that you have done. My take on your videos are that they are instructional and help people realize what is out there in the metal detector market. There is a vast amount of metal detector manufacturers in the European market that are unfamiliar to the American metal detector scene. It is through the people that 'take a chance' and buy one of these seldom seen detectors, video the tests, then they are truly the pioneers in finding out about technological advances of metal detection. I like the audio and the oscilloscope graph on the Sorex, it looks like a fun detector to use.

...and I like the challenge of figuring out something new that no one here has used. Breaks up the boredom of winter.

hello there as i'm in maine myself and and as you've seen on MDM touting the deep techs i like that graph and tone much better as well hope to see you at the cabin fever meet!

I liked that Vista I picked up from you.....want to see how the Smart works out. Looks nice for a two tone relic machine. I can't make it up to the Cabin Fever...it is my grandughters 1 st birthday and my 49th birthday this weekend. Care less about mine but...the grandaughter gets whatever she wants....hope she wants a new metal detector...:)
Scott

Great merciful Tao! Talk about cabin fever! Happy Birthday and great work again, Scott!..thanks for clearing up your reasoning behind the comparisons, your just bored and half crazy nuts about metal detecting! Anyway...did the tones seem a little weak on that Sorex? Almost like a timid little suggestion that there might be a dime down here, instead of the solid Bang! I get with the F70?

Are the instructions in English ???

Yes....currently the Sorex Pro comes in both an English menu ( machine software) as well as having an English manual.

Currentll all other models are Russian only. Now...one of the engineers at AKA said he would try and get an English version of one or two other models to try but that will take some time.

The first Russian detector I bought was the Kondor...now that is all Russian and I had to translate the entire manual using software and the internet...a real PITA but it also helped me learn some of the terms they use that do not translate properly into English. A perfect example are the words Ferrous and Non Ferrous. Translated to English they usually translate as Black and Colored....took a little while to figure that out.
Scott

Now if you use google you can right click on a page and translate it from Russian to English automatically...or use Bing.

Here is the link to the English manual....it is a zip file and is clean...click on the open image URL below and ignore the error
S-Pro-eng.zip

Now lets see if this works...might not...here is their product page linked through Bing Translator

Translated product page

Now if the above link does not work properly here is the Russian website direct. Since you cannot order directly through this website it should not violate any rules.

....deeper signals are a bit weaker...but you can also increase the boost on weak signals if you like. I also have the microphone sensitivity turned down due to the wind. With headphones on , which I always use, they are plenty loud if you turn up amplification of weak signals. Also I have the volume of Iron turned up more than I normally would so it can be heard on the video. Normally I will turn down the volume of iron targets about halfway...enough that I can hear them but not so they compete with the non ferrous good targets.

Also on the F-70 I think the speaker is back under your arm and closer to your head whereas the Sorex has it behind the meter display I think,

Now I don't max out amplification of weak signals otherwise you can't tell a deep signal just by audio. Again with headphones it is a different story. If you don't like the all metal threshold you can drop the sensivity of that channel down to squat and kill it and run in silent search mode/ Sometimes when you have it running wide open discriminate with iron audio up, Thrshold running mixed mode AND the good tone ID goin on the Discrimnate side it can be an orchestra of sounds......so you just have to adjust all the audio to your liking. I myself am used to mixed mode and love it...but it can get to be painful in celar hole trash and then...just swap over to your discriminate edit screen and the iron will be disc out...if you have set the disc edit to do so.

Hi - Where do these machines need to go if you need any service? Who pays to ship it to where it's going and who pays for the return shipping?

Well, azsh07, I am interested in buying one. Maybe you can help me to place the order. I visited AKA

These could be right up your alley. You'll be known as the International Importer.
Let me throw this one into the mix also from Bulgaria.

Video tests show it might be as good or better (?) than the Deeptech's etc. and right now are priced at about half of the Deeptech's.

Just watched the iron mask video with the ngr 100.Watch it guys and see if you can spot problem with this test.

Neil,

These type of tests are useless at best, the coin is touching the iron which give the target more mass. Hence the positive higher conductive hit, I noticed he almost laid the coin close to the iron but decided against it because it would not give a higher conductive hit IMHO.

Hi Sven...thanks for the head's up...
I watched whatever video I could find about these machines - there is absolutely NOTHING impressive about them at all...unless I'm missing something (I did a video search on youtube)...They are a toy compared to the DeepTech or the Blisstool.

The DeepTech GOLD has proven itself to be, quite possibly, the fastest response in iron detector on the market today - and that's a response to both high and low conductors....The Blisstool is the ONLY VLF metal detector (so far) that can ground balance out the basalt rock/red soil of Culpeper, VA and still find non-ferrous targets at 12" while using discrimination..

Over at Dankowski where everyone is so afraid to rock the boat with anything that goes up against their Fisher and Deus/GMP machines...they just won't admit what they see in REAL comparative video...

Those Tom Dankowski "tests" are unverifiable..there are guys there that ask questions and the 5 Dankowski disciples just jump all over anyone that questions the Great Wizard....where is anything to support his claims??? None. Zip. NADA. I believe nothing that HE says over there.....I need him to show me the money! It's time to pull back the curtain...he NEVER shows anything just flaps his gums...I read some posts that point at all his inconsistent statements it's so funny...

I guess it's all about paying him the $1200 he wants for lessons...whatever....as long as one knows that's the reality...

The only guy with an independent mind and a great deal of knowledge to pass on to people is Keith Southern.
