And that was even after "Made In America" was featured on TV. Do you mind if I link that video to some other forums?

And Garrett Also Got This Award..."Outstanding Employer in Dallas County" in 2007. It's so nice to see so many dedicated employees. I have to give them a lot of credit for all my finds I have accumulated all these years. They "WANT" those machines to find good targets.

Nice video. I'm surprised they do so much assembly by hand.

The last person in the video that is assembling the green machine needs static-protection. They are kinda rough on the circuit boards too. I cringed when they knocked the second board down into position! :yikes:

linking in the other forums would be very much appreciated i hope you will link the show when it comes out in july as well. Thanks my friend.

Hey thanks Larry,
It was a priviledge to see how our great machines were made.
Just like hobbes lives, I too was very surprised at the amount of manual work involved.
The bonus is jobs for many people, that can't be a bad by product.

Well done Garrett's.

Thanks Ian & Eileen all garretts products are made right here in garland texas. Also here is Charle's first detector that he built and used !

I hunt all year round, and when it gets darn cold, I just put some hot pacs on the batteries on the ACE, and it continues working! Lots of good drops on those toboggan and ski hills. ;)

Great stuff Olddrivers. Ive been a Garrett fan since I bought my first detector at a yardsale. A Master Hunter. Man I wish I was worthy enough to use that detector for 1 hunt.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

As an industrial engineer, I love seeing how different products are built.

Based on a quick observation of a few build stations, from the best I can gather I estimate they make about 1 per minute.

So, in a normal 8 hour workday with two 10 minute breaks, a 20 minute lunch, and 5 minutes for end of day cleanup, their daily one shift production should be about 435 units per workcell.

Keep up the great work and quality Garrett folks! We'll keep buying!

Before that he was lugging around a WWII mine detector. That's why he built his own detector. Many old time treasure hunters used the mine detectors because that's all there was. Most of those had a 40 pound battery pack.

Yeah they are tested here and all over the world - in places ( like Italy ) where the ground is horrendous for detectors.Charles Garrett isn't content with just a so so detector that just works in some places. Charles' name is on everyone of those machines and he doesn't take that lightly.

Bill

Looks like fun, NOT. Can you imagine working on an assembly line. Doing the same thing over and over day after day. BORING. Not my kind of job.
