Vid numbers off

Just bought a used bigfoot coil for my xlt. Took it out to a local ball field for a test run. It seems to work fine, but the vid numbers are running about 20-30 points higher than they should. Nickels were running in the high thirties to low forties. Pennies were ringing up in the 80s as quarters and quarters are coming in at 95. Didn't have time to test another coil, but last week with 5.3 coil, it's vdis were right on the money. Is this normal for the bigfoot coil or do I need to have it checked out? If so, who do I send it to? I think I read that the maker passed away.

Are you sure you bought the right Bigfoot for the XLT? I think they made several models for different detectors/frequencies, Prizm, XLT and the DFX/MXT/M6. Jimmy Sierra was the distributor for the Bigfoot line so you might want to give them a call.

Thanks. I thought there were just two one for dfx and one for xlt. I'll be contacting Jimmy Sierra.

Here is the link and phone number for Jimmy Sierra (White's Dealer) and some additional info on the Bigfoot. There might be someone there today.

If you have a part Number on your Bigfoot, this might help

Prizim P/N JS-BF/PZ

DFX P/N JS-BF/X

XLT P/N JS-BF

Thank you, Larry for the info on part numbers. I can't find a part number on the coil. I took it off the lower rod and checked all around the attachment ears. No luck. Here is a picture of the coils label. Says for s2,s3, pro and eagle detectors. Are these machines 6.59 kHz?

Thanks

That should be the right frequency for the XLT, just an older model. You just might have to get used to the odd numbers because I don't think they can be repaired anymore but a call to Jimmy might shed a new light...........

Turn Absolute Value on this my correct your problem ( it is design to be used with specialty loops sach as Big foot or Gold foot .
