Another three hours on the river footpath today, found some modern decimal coins 1 Pound and Five pence.

1 Victorian Penny 1878 and 2 Victorian Halfpenny's 1881 and 1887 ( All in the same hole ) a very cool

1 Pound Co-operative Society Token, a lead fishing weight, and a big pull ring. I took a few pics of the

sites I am so lucky to be able to detect on, enjoy.

Yes my friend I did the " happy river dance " and got my boots full of Horse Muck:rofl:

How dare you call the River Aire a Stream:rofl:

The level of the river is very low, a few days of rain will bring it back to normal

The large weight is to anchor the bait onto the river bed, which gives you a tight line to

the rod tip this kind of fishing in the U K is called Legering, a bite from a fish will pull

the Rod Tip round, and yes some big fish in that Errrr Stream.

Here is a better pic of my Token, OOps nearly forgot to mention A T Pro

Pro Custom Mode, Iron Discrim 30, Sense 7 Bars, Iron Audio Off, G B 87

What, no Roman coins? ;) That really is an exceptional pocket spill!:clap:
I'm green with envy [attachment 215838 duck-169.gif]

The area in the pics Hot Rod Z is steeped in Roman history the only problem is that in order to

find the Roman coins / artifacts a few hundred tons of topsoil would have to be excavated, so

I will have to be content digging the Victorian coins for now, but keep watching this space LOL.

Look forward to seeing them. I don't own any Roman coins but find them fascinating.

Yes TriniDigger, the copper/ / bronze I dig from the fields are always in good condition

but the coins from the woods just crumble as soon as they hit the fresh air, leaf mould

and acid soil play havoc with them, here is a pic of them

I will post a few pics of my finds tomorrow we share some history as my country was a British colony until 1962. Many of the coins you find I have found as well. My latest was 2 George V shillings
