Vibraprobe 570 Just Died --- Need Repair/Troubleshooting Advice:confused:

Yes, my trusty Vibraprobe which I purchased used and in like new shape 3 months ago has just died on me.
No warning, just dead in the water so to speak.

Fresh batteries do not make a difference.
I have examined the wiring and all seems to be ok.

I am wondering if I can run a continuity test on the battery leads and tell what is wrong.
The integrity of the wiring and battery connectors seems to be just fine upon physical inspection.

Any ideas why it would just die?

TOO MUCH DIRT, NOT ENUFF TIME!

I thought my 560 died once, it turned out I needed an Alkaline battery, which I thought I had. I didn't. It has work fine ever since.

I had a similar problem with one of my detectors. Turned out the "new" replacement battery was even deader than the one it replaced. Not real common, but it does/can happen.

My 560 went almost dead (would get only a faint signal if object was touching). I call manufacturer and they said they would fix for 20.00 regardless of what the problem was. So I sent in in. They sent me a new replacement. Mine was out of warranty. approx 3 years old. All things considered I guess it was worth it. But-a couple months later I bought the garrett pro-pointer. Still not a problem as I now have a backup.
