Very Quiet at Horseshoe Bay but at least there was silver at Jobson's Cove!

I took a spin down to Horseshoe Bay this morning to see if the conditions had improved but I was disappointed to find that the beach is still heavily sanded in. The main beach produced a junker toe ring and nothing else; 'How Sad is THAT??.' The swimming hole produced a little clad but that's all. Obviously it is going to take a couple of good storms to open up the treasure chest here.

Undeterred, I headed a little further down the road to Jobson's Cove and managed a 1956 silver quarter between when I fired up the Excal and took the 5 steps needed to get into the water. I almost didn't dig it because I was intent on getting into the water but the tone was so good I couldn't resist. All the targets today were deep ones, over 12". I managed a big, .99 silver ring and two .925 toe rings plus some more clad. I also found an old, lead, mushroom bullet along with the dozens of other bullets I dug up today. I say mushroom bullet because it had completely folded back on itself an looks just like a tiny, lead mushroom.

Just before I left the swimming hole I noticed a flash of colour and turned to see a large, green parrotfish nibbling away at the rock in the center of the swimming hole. He kept pushing himself up out of the water to get at the little critters moving up the rock as the tide came in. I only managed one half decent pic before he scooted into deeper waters when I got to close.

A beautiful day and the prospect of a gale tomorrow to stir things up, Perfect!
