Very Old buckle any ides?

I found this buckle appears to be all copper Looks to be 1700’s? Any ideas?

I have no idea what it could have came off its very soft metal being copper I thought it was a aluminum can at first the way it rang up.

Since it is somewhat fragile, I believe it is a sash buckle.
Like other other guy stated, it is well preserved... I’m surprised it is not green or more patina on it.
The tongue looks to be made of bronze instead of iron like most buckles.
 
That is one Great looking buckle and save. I'm glad you dug that signal. I know you were. I was thinking too, that because of its shape, it could be a dash buckle, but I know someone will come along and he able to Mail the I'D on this great looking relic. Well Done and Congrats Mkus. This buckle will look great displayed.
 
Now that they say that....... I found a ladies Victorian Sash pin buckle earlier this year. Although this is not as fancy as the one I found it could still very well be an example of the same item
