I don't understand why the dogs couldn't be loaded in airplanes to return to the states.

I think they are better trained now and hopefully the ones they left behind got homes.
 
There were many instances where private oraganizations moved in and interviened on the dogs' behalf
and many of those dogs were able to go to the homes of thier Soldier handlers :thumbup:

The Military has since changed a lot on it's policy with Military dogs and now many are even given full retirement as
Soldiers, Marines, Sailors and Airmen.

Sadly tho, many are still deemed surplus and neglected.
It's allll about the benjamins.:veryangry:
