hey everybody i just got back from a real late hunt ,i found out the house right next door to me was built in the early 1900's so i went over there,, 2 wheaties that makes 43 for me now, then my 2nd merc dime 1929, and then my first gold,,whoo hooo!!!! large mans gold ring 10k but the stone was gone but still killer. my girfriend has the camera so i'll send in pics tomm.,,,theni have a question i also found a heart pendant that looks alot like silver but no mark and it is very heavy really looks like silver though.. is there anyway i can home test it? and just to let you know i have started hunting in the allmetal mode,andi seem to be liking it alot,, but would love to know if this thing is silver.. thanks to everyone on here i love this hobby

Great news, gotta love gold!!! As for testing for silver, I have no idea.

You can get a stone and the acid for testing on Ebay for $9.99.

great finds.someone correct me if I'm wrong but i think you can put a drop of bleach on silver and if turns black its silver.i would not do this to a good coin.i have a franklin half i tried this on and its still go a dark spot on it.
