very first ring with my Vaquero

coinscratch

New member
Found this ring detecting around perimeter of park skating rink on the 8th.Was detecting just above iron getting fair amount of clad, when i got a louder full tone hit.Thumbed disc to silver/copper range and still received same tone so i dug at around 5 inches my first ever ring with my Vaquero! Don't know if its junk or not,it doesn't stick to a magnet but the only marking i can find read "G75" under a magnifying glass. Isn't deteriorated or corroded even though it appears to been in ground a while but i suppose i need to bring it to coin and jewelry shop to find out for sure. Can not wait for the weekend as this find got me pumped! $happy digging everyone$

Rings are so hard to find.A lot of old and new detectorist are really catching on to the Tesoro concept.Light, fast, deep, fun, and lifetime warranty.WTG coinscratch, another fine detectorist showing what he can do without bells and whistles. :please:

Nice find. Congrats. You will find many more if you keep swinging the Tesoros. I found a listing on eBay by googling ring marking G75 that the ring was also marked .925. Does your ring have a .925 mark or ss for sterling silver? Good luck and keep digging them rings..

Vaquero makes for a excellent jewelry detector. The 14khz kicks butt for this.I got some Tesoro detectors but i will make the vaq my favorite do it all by far.The ring i found has a h925.Most likely the h may be the maker. But i tell you what, the more i look at this ring i found the more i like it.

I went over this very spot with my bounty hunter last fall and completely missed this target...I'm really loving this vaquero.

Dirt digger, did some investigating on google and found that g750 means 18 k white, red, and plain gold! Can't for the life of me find that damn "0" though probable turn out to be rhodium but its nice to dream!

Congratulations on your first ring....Precious metal or not it reinforces your persistence to find more!!!
FYI....rhodium would not be a bad dream at $1200.00 per . oz.......GL HH on the next one!

Yes,reinforcing my persistence is a good description of the feeling! I'm sure ill get that feeling with my first silver, hell,i even get that feeling finding clad, guess I'm addicted. Pure Rhodium would be awesome, what i meant to say was its probable plated. My daughter is in love with this ring and has been wearing it to school (shes 15) so even if it turns out to be valuable, shes more precious to me, so ill give it to her!

Was it nice and shiny like that when you found it? looka at this i think its 18K ( 7) 18k 750 - Often you will find both Karat Stamps and their percentage stamps inside of rings. 750 is the same thing as 75% Gold or 18K)

Yes,it was that shinny right out of the ground. This ring is lattice in design and Ive scoured over it with a magnifying glass only marking for sure are a TINY G7and either 3 or 5 but pretty sure its 5, going to take a drive to the coin and jewelry shop in order to end the mystery. When i do find out i will post the results.Went out today and found $3.22 in clad and officially killed my first...suppose that means the Vaqueros broke in!

. Went to coin and jewelry shop today to solve the mystery of what type precious metal or junk this ring is. Only markings I could find was a "g75" well, this guy spends 10 seconds looking at it and says "I'm pretty positive it's silver even though I can't find a 925 mark" he then proceeded with a silver test " if this turns blue than its silver" he said, sure enough it turned blue. So the mystery is over its silver! Much better than junk...
