Very First Coin With The F75

Derrelld

Well-known member
I know this is just a regular wheat penny,,, and i have found hundreds with my Explorer over the last two years...
But i just received my my first Fishers medal detector in the mail today! I purchased a F75 off another forum member... I am pretty lost when it comes to this detector,, to tell you the truth i struggled just finding out how to turn it on! :rage:
Anyways to make a long story short,,, I took it out in my front yard,,, Fired the bad boy up and went to work,, I struggled with the setting's a bit.. But i got them worked out... It seems to me this machine doesn't do the best with electrical interference.... I made a sweep through the yard, and i came across a very nice tone,,, Stayed consistent,, I forget what the number where but i know the meter was hitting around the dime area... I dug down and at about 7 inches popped out this 1910 wheaty! My house dates back in the early 1900's and i have pounded and pounded my yard with every detector i own! I thought there was nothing left!
The reason i am posting this find is to really show that NOT ONE DETECTOR OR DETECTORIST CAN FIND IT ALL!!There is always something left.... And i believe i am going to like this F75.. My main focus with it is house sites and old cabin sites in the woods... Thanks for looking and i promise i will never post another "single" wheat penny ever again lol

Any advice on how to run the machine would be appreciated!!!

The F75 ROCKS at finding coins snuggled up against discriminated trash items! The depth is spectacular in an ergonomic, lightweight package that is a breeze to swing all day. Tip: Run your Disc. around 6 and try dp audio mode since you're used to the Exp. The F75 is easy when experimenting with settings...everything is right there in front of you. If you have a test garden, tweak and play on your deep stuff so you'll have confidence with it when hunting in the "wild".

You have found tons of stuff with your explorer and I have enjoyed your post on the minelab forum. We hope to see some good post here as well. I don't think you can go wrong with the F75 out in the woods and at old home sites. Keep us posted!

You may at first think it's acting up..But you will soon realize it is hitting more targets faster than any machine you have ever used.. Go for the DP mode since your used to all the tones.. You will do well at 6 Disc..and sens as high as possible. Don't rule out DE in heavy trash..and when you get around to JE hang on Bro..She is going to take you for a pleasant ride..3h will bring all the nickles and V's up to..Darrell it's a good detector and very very deep.It will find targets your EXP has missed due to nulling..Check that yard in a grid and post up those pennies ,dimes, and quarters along with the nickles you find.

How you liking that feel..almost like not swinging anything isn't it.

Darrelld....Good Luck............show us all what the F75 can do buddy

I think they are pretty evenly matched except for the ID system on the Explorer is much better. Let us know how you do.

Derrelld I to have been a long time explorer II user too (about 5 yrs) and found lots of good coins. I got an F75 a couple of weeks ago and so far I am impressed with it. I have never seen a machine that is so fast jumping from one target to another. The menus are also very easy to find, no layered menu's.

Don't forget if you use multy tones use a disc of 0 if you want to look for relics try a disc of 6 and mono tone and a sens as high as you can go.

Good going Derreld, that is a good result.... Typical of peoples findings with there first time out using thei F75's.
I found also that my F75 was highly responsive to electrical interference, and I had to back my gain way down to settle things a bit.

Wonderful detector though !!!:detecting:

:crylol:

Good luck Derrel - get the 4X6 coil and if you find yourself at an old indy house that your EX is contantly nulling while in IM, you'll be pleasantly suprised what this detector with that coil can do. Other than that, you'll love it when the crops come in.

Thanks everyone!!! I appreciate all the advice!!!

And Shambler "or anyone" i have the 5 inch double D coil... Do you prefer the 4x6 over it????

Honestly I haven't used the 5" but I've read its better in trash but gets less depth. Visit Tom Dankowski's forum regularly. It's a very knowledgable group of Fisher lovers and Tom's an engineer that was in on the CZ3D design.
