VERY ANTIQUE GOLD THIMBLE

Hello guys i was wondering if this is the right topic to post what a friend found a few years ago

What I'm looking is the value of this gold thimble, and it is not just an ordinary gold thimble , it is a 300 year old thimble, it was found in a ghost town that's from the 1700 , the last people that lived in that town were approximately 1800, this happened because of the war of those days they were expelled from that town he investigated and French, and Spanish , and England and Mexican people lived there.

It doesn't mean that it is 300 years old maybe 200 or maybe more than 300 , maybe it was done in Europe and brought here.

I investigated on Internet and have found some gold thimble selling for 500 dollars, but this gold thimbles were made in 1950 and the one that my friend found is between 250 and 350 years old .....OH i forgot to say that those gold thimble were 18k and 10k and this one is 24 k

It is in perfect conditions , as you can see it was man made, look at the drawings how beautiful they are, look how thick it is , just look at the color and you can see it is pure gold , no scratches at all

Weights 8 grams
24k
between 250 and 350 years old

If you know the value of this beautiful Gold thimble or know someone who might know the value i will appreciate it very much

You dont see this things every now and then

Gold that is 24 k is too soft for a usable thimble, it might be an art piece, 24 k gold is as soft as lead and a needle would push right through if it was used as a working thimble. If it is pure gold and came out of the ground it would more than likely have scratches and be smashed flat, and the color of pure (24k) gold is a deeper orange that what I see in the photo, but that's a photo and I just judging by that.

How do you know it is pure 24 k gold (it sure looks like gold), is it marked 24k or something? Very nice find by the way, congrats. To get a price you would need to know the date or who made it, other than that it is only worth it's weight in gold.

That site says
"The silver thimble would allow for the needle to pass through after much wear and tear. This was very painful for those who used them on a regular basis. The gold thimble was more durable and prevented the needle from passing through."

Gold more durable than silver? Who writes this stuff?

The decoration looks interesting. Is the design "floral" or some indian/aztek design. That might determine who made it and when.

I assume this abandoned villae lies somewhere close to Mexico?
