I picked this painting up at a yard sale this summer. It was done by Ramon Gathrie I'm guessing by the stretcher its from around 1900-1920 which he would of been in his teens or twentys. He was a teacher at Dartmouth in N.H.and put out a few books of poetry and a painting of him hangs at Dartmouth collage.I can't find anything on his art.I feel it a pretty good painting It went up for sale at a civil rights auction back in the 60's.Do you think its good? What style would you call it.It's titled Uncle Meon's Dream on the back of the strecher.
