Got a chance to spend some time at the beach. The Velox will work on wet salt sand but like most VLF detectors, you will have to cut your sensitivity way back even after using the recommended factory settings. This will effect your depth as we all know. On dry sand it worked fine and has great sensitivity to small gold and platinum. You can only discriminate iron using this machine and bottle caps hit with a solid medium tone. Coins other then a nickel have a higher tone. If you have ever used an XP Goldmaxx the tones are identical. Coil is heavy when sweeping parallel on a sloping beach. More tests to follow but I would not loose my multi frequency detector.
