VDI Readings?

As some of you's have read I am going to get a X-Terra 30 & I am trying to learn all I can before I get it. I found this info on the VDI readings and wondered if you think it is accurate or not. Thanks! Steve.

Steve, nothing jumps out at me as being wrong. But remember that the TID of rings and other "non-coin" items will vary with size and metallic composition. If you take a look at the FAQFAQ listed near the top of this forum, you will find a TID chart I posted that encompasses most US coins. As well, several of us have posted charts and pics of various jewelry items. Again, depending on the size, carat weight and alloy mixed in, gold rings will vary from single digit numbers to 36.
