VDI Reading

I was at a ball field this morning with the V3 and another guy with a DFX E series came over to chat. He had a 12 inch coil on and was having problems pin pointing so I gave him some tips. While chatting he was curious what the V3 reading would be on hi gold ring so we checked. I was getting a VDI of 55 but when he checked it with his DFX his VDI reading was 75. I was using the coin and jewelry setting and I would have thought the VDI readings should be just about the same. Has anyone else run into this reading difference? Thanks.

The biggest gold ring I ever found (and I mean super bowl size) measured in the 50's with my MXT. That seems to agree with what you got with the V. Rob

It sounds like he had normalize turned off.
