VDI percent (%)

Can anybody tell me what I have to do to get the vdi percentage to show? I was reading the other day about how to tell a bottle cap
from a quarter by observing the percentage and also what freq is dominent.
I hadnt noticed till now that my percentage is not showing.
Also wouldnt it be good to have a V3i teaching, learning forum like we do for the DFX, especially since the V3i manual isnt as
condence as the V3 manual is?
Thanks; Jim

It should be right next to the VDI number on the analyze screen.

If it's not where Larry mentioned, you probably don't have it enabled.

Expert menu/configure/Live search screen/Analysis/Sizing/
Make sure VDI Confidence is checked.

Sigh, you guys are very fast on the draw....I thought this V3i newbie had a shot at this one, but you beat me to it. You posted up before I got a crack at it. Good answers.

It is and it is very small just to the lower right of the VDI number. May need to zoom the font size or put on the glasses if your eyes are "more experienced" like mine!

After you get to Expert menu/configure/Live search screen/Analysis/Sizing/ then top of screen and X confidence or uncheck it.

Thanks, went and checked it out. Looks like something I wouldn't use anyway.Yazoo

It's OK but I don't have mine enabled. I don't see that much use and I don't use sizing anyway.

Here ya go Jim, I put this together awhile ago for other users. . .

How to Differentiate between Bottlecaps vs. Quarters with Spectra V3:

I know most of you now have Spectra V3i

I like the polar plot for this. If it is a quarter you will get straight lines in the following order of length GRB with Green being the longest or strongest. The V3i is so good using the analysis tools that it darn near gives you the date!! :surprised:

In the case of a bottle cap the polar plot lines are not straight and thus the order really does not matter. The polar plot has be come very useful to me when it comes to determining if I should dig or not. I can tell you that when I have ignored the PP, more times than not I found myself digging trash. Pull tabs are another item entirely. They can at times give great VDI numbers, come in as strong Green signals, and have a polar plot that is near perfect. They can fool the sizing as well I have noticed. I just chalk them up as good exersize and throw them in my junk bag. :detecting:

Just my two cents worth and I am still learning.
